The Pond and Rockery

The pond was constructed in 1994 and now looks as though it has always been there. By June the Zantedeschia aethiopica lilies are in their full glory
However there are many other sorts of plants around the pond. In the spring and autumn the acers are full of colour. In the photos below are acer palmatum inaba shidare, acer palmatum dissectum flavens en acer palmatum ornatum.

The spring is heralded in by Caltha palustris around the pond 
 and during the summer months the irises are in flower: Iris kaemferi, Iris pseudoacorus en Iris versicolor.

The Syringa microphylla suberba gives a powerful perfume around the pond in May.

The reflections in the water, with the goldfish and the astilbes, are also lovely.
